Vidal Essebag MD, PhD, FRCPC, FACC, FHRS
Dr. Vidal Essebag completed his MD, cardiology training, MSc and PhD in epidemiology and biostatistics at McGill University (Montreal, Canada). He subsequently completed a clinical and research fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at Harvard University (Boston, United States) under Dr. Mark E. Josephson. He is Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology at the McGill University Health Centre, Professor of Medicine at McGill University, and a Clinician Scientist supported by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Dr. Essebag currently has over 150 publications in peer-reviewed journals and is a principal investigator or co-investigator in several clinical trials including ablation of atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia, defibrillator and cardiac resynchronization therapy and peri-operative anticoagulation management. He has also been actively involved in national guideline committees including atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, implantable cardiac defibrillators, and cardiac resynchronization therapy.
