The McGill Cardiac Obstetrics Program (MCOP) offers comprehensive, quality and multidisciplinary care and counseling to pregnant women and women desiring pregnancy who have congenital and acquired heart disease. The clinic provides women with expertise from a cardiologist and high-risk obstetricians who have special training in heart disease in pregnancy. The clinic also collaborates with other medical specialists from obstetrical and cardiac anesthesia, the fertility clinic, medical genetics, maternal fetal medicine, neonatology, pediatric cardiology, critical care, cardiac surgery, interventional cardiology, and other medical and cadiology specialities. Our clinic has a dedicated nurse to liaise with patients and to assist with the organization of tests and visits. The clinic provides training in heart disease in pregnancy to residents and fellows in adult congenital heart disease, maternal fetal medicine and general internal medicine who often participate in research projects involving cardio-obstetrics.
