This program treats patients with all types of simple and complex heart rhythm disorders. Life-saving heart pacemakers, defibrillators and resynchronization devices are implanted on a daily basis. Specialized ablation procedures are performed on hundreds of patients annually to cure them of abnormal electrical wiring in the heart that can cause rapid irregular cardiac arrhythmias. Our electrophysiology service is the referral centre for a large number of hospitals across the province.
